Album Review: Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park

Mac Miller is a nineteen year old rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Miller is a self-taught musician; he can play piano, guitar, bass, and drums. In July 2010, he was signed to Rostrum Records. Since then, he has released K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever.

Miller took the world (particularly the internet) by storm in 2011 leading up to his first official album, Blue Slide Park. Pre-orders alone got this album to number 3 overall on iTunes. This highly anticipated album dropped on November 8, 2011.

I’m on my third listen, and I have to say the more I listen to BSP the more I am liking it. Although there is a little bit too much repetition in a few of the songs, all of them are set to super catchy beats. This album also has a really nice diversity of upbeat and slower songs, which is something I really enjoy. In addition, while some songs have the usual rap subject, Miller tends to add his own story to a lot of the songs.
