The concert took place in the Silver Legacy in Reno, Nevada in the Grand Exposition Hall. The Hall seats around 1,600 fans in an intimate and sophisticated setting. Even though the show started at 8, most people didn’t wonder in until right before The Fray came on around 9, then every seat was filled. As you would expect with a band like this most of the audience was either older ladies or young girls, most of them came with their husbands/ boyfriends.

THE EVERYTHING'S FINE SYMPHONY SOLDIER TOUR - LIVE REVIEW

The Cab has had an interesting past couple of years. A dramatic lineup change and a departure from a popular record label can usually damage a band’s fan base, but in The Cab’s case, that is simply not true. Their latest release, Symphony Soldier, was widely received as an excellent album by fans and critics alike. They toured with fan-favorite All Time Low in the fall of 2011, and departed on their headlining tour with The Summer Set, The Everything’s Fine Symphony Soldier Tour, in January of 2012. It was such an impressive show. The openers, Last Night’s Vice and Patrick Stump, were incredible. I had not seen Panic! together since Ryan Ross and Jon Walker left the band in 2009 so I was not sure what to expect of them. To say the least, I was blown away. The other fans in the cramped nightclub seemed to enjoy the show as well. Unfortunately, the concert started off with a foul feeling because of the extremely high temperatures in St. Louis. It broke one hundred degrees Fahrenheit easily in the middle of the day. Fans were dripping with sweat as they bared the Midwest heat for the opening of the Friday is Forever tour at Six Flags St. Louis. Thankfully, Action Item took the stage with confidence and rocked the crowd. The singer, Brian Cag, had vocals that sounded decent as they played through a few songs. One fan in the crowd mentioned that the singer has a slight resemblance for Muse’s front man Matt Bellamy. The bassist, David Buczkowski, was hilarious to watch with his amusing facial expressions. As the first band, Action Item made a statement that proved they are an up-and-coming band with a decent amount of talent supporting them.

GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL REVIEW 2011.

150,000 people, hundreds of acts and enough mud to swim in, Glastonbury Festival ticked all the boxes, as it does every year. Friday had rain, an inevitable fate for Glastonbury, however it did not dampen the spirits of the mud covered festival goers. Biffy Clyro put on an interesting performance, with each band member ditching their t-shirts for the performance, much to the approval of the enthusiastic crowd. Playing Mountains as a show closer they exited the stage leaving a very happy, if not slightly wet, crowd. U2 were the Friday head liners, and although they put on a good show, with pyrotechnics and fire works, they were not the highlight of the weekend. Saturday brought the sunburn. Jessie J played the Other Stage, and despite a broken foot her glamorous performance went down a storm. Being forced to sit down her whole show, did little to her stage presence and the crowd loved every minute. A few hours later and Coldplay hit the stage. With fireworks, lights and even giant balloons in the crowd, they had everybody signing along. Performing classics along with a few new songs they really did lighten up the night and set the bar for the weekends acts. Sunday, and the last acts of the festival. Pendulum were second to last, and they put on an amazing performance. With a huge stage set up and lights to correspond with their songs, they deserved every cheer. Beyonce was the final act on the Pyramid stage, with a performance that surprised everyone. Wearing a revealing gold number she even got close to crowd to thank them. Her sexy dance moves left little to the imagination but it was the perfect end to a muddy, yet sunny Glastonbury weekend. Glastonbury isn't happening next year, and this was a perfect goodbye, even though plans are already in place for 2013, and I have no doubt it will be amazing.

DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2011 REVIEW
